About Us
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Since 2003, we have been a 501(c)(3) non-profit avian welfare organization focused on the sanctuary, rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of macaws, cockatoos, amazons, budgies and other psittacine birds. Our commitment goes beyond rescue; we also provide vital education to the public on proper parrot care, including diet, husbandry, and enrichment. Together, we can ensure that these remarkable birds the love and care they deserve. Join us in our mission to make a positive impact in their lives!

Our Story
Wings Love Bird Haven was founded in 2003 by Deann Waggoner. She rescued hundreds of parrots running the rescue from her home for almost two decades. She retired in 2021, but not before acquiring a ten acre plot of land and building a facility enabling the rescue to house many, many parrots. Charlene Meyer began as a volunteer in 2019, just before the pandemic. She stepped in as the Executive Director of the Haven in 2022. The Haven now now accommodates between 130 and 200 parrots and the occasional dove or pigeon everyday.
